The Myth ICS Rom for Galaxy Ace S5830 was one of the hit on our DialAndroid. Myth ICS was a themed ICS version of Gingerbread but was worth trying for its killing looks and interface, in fact I have used it for long. But every time we were  getting request to post something about Real Ice cream Sandwich ICS for Galaxy ACE. Well we have answer now, Thanks to Developer Maclaw, who is working on Real ICS port on Galaxy Ace S5830. Read on for details on how to install ICS Android 4.0 CyanogenMod 9 (CM9) on Galaxy Ace S5830.

CM9 for Galaxy Ace is unofficial and is a project Run by GalaxyICS.

How to install Android 4.0 CM9 on Galaxy Ace S5830 

Download links
Visit http://galaxyics.com/ And goto download section and select Ace S5830 then download the latest build. At the time of writing this article latest one was Nightly for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 (13 May 2012).
Copy the downloaded firmware ZIP file to your SD card
Make sure your phone has CWM installed (CWM installation guide)

Video Guide


Procedure
  • Take complete backup of you phone (use Dialandroid Android backup guide)
  • Switch off your phone completely
  • Reboot in Android Recovery mode by pressing Home+Power button (Leave the power button once you see Samsung logo on the screen and keep home button pressed)
  • Click on Wipe Data/Factory Reset >> Yes to continue
  • Click on Wipe Cache partition >> Yes to continue
  • Goto Advanced >> Wipe Dalvik Cache >> Yes
  • Wipe Battery Stats
  • GO to main menu And click on Install zip from SD card
  • Select the downloaded zip file and press yes to continue
  • Wait for process to complete
  • Wait for process to complete
  • Reboot your phone... Thats it..
If your phone goes to boot loop then don`t worry just remove the battery and goto CWM recovery menu and wipe data and Cache.

Now you will have Android ICS 4.0 CM9 on your Samsung Galaxy Ace.
